T.A. Charron


Artist and curator, T. A. Charron studied at the Art Institute of Boston under Norman Baer and Walter Marks and with painters; Robert Bateman, Daniel Greene, and Robert Douglas Hunter. Charron has received over 80 awards for excellence in both painting and drawing. He is an elected member of many prominent American art societies and organizations including the Salmagundi Club, the Copley Society of Boston, North Shore and Rockport Art Associations. His artwork is in the permanent collections of museums and many other public and private collections worldwide and his commissioned painting of Dr. Martin Luther King and other prominent portraits have bee unveiled to thousands of people. His paintings have been published in two historical books and his portraits have been featured on a PBS national show. As curator, he put together “New England Impressions, Painting from Life”, for the Attleboro Arts Museum and was asked by the Harvard Club of Boston to curate the exhibition, “New England Painters of Today”. His paintings have been shown with many of America’s prominent painters. T.A. Charron has conducted workshop classes and demos for over 30 years, teaching hundreds of students both on location and in the studio. Presently, he is vice president of the Rockport Art Association and recording secretary for the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. Charron is co-director and vice president of the New England Plein Air Painters (NEPAP) formed in 2005. Charron paints in his north light studio in southeastern, Massachusetts and on location throughout the east coast. .
